๐Ÿบ The Peter Monn Book Tag ๐Ÿบ

Peter Monn is one of my favorite “Booktubers”. You can find his videos at Peter Likes Books. He’s also the author of The Before Now and After Then, a young adult, LGBT, contemporary romance novel.

Ola Quinn created this tag using sayings Peter says in his videos.

Iโ€™M YOUTUBE FAMOUS NOW: a book or series that deserves to be talked about way more

Shooting Creek and Other Stories

“These are stories that are as dark, gritty, and disturbing as the characters who inhabit them, yet there is a pervasive humanness which forces us to empathize. That asks us to understand why people sometimes do what they do. Perhaps thatโ€™s the reason these stories have been chosen for the Best American Mystery series, honored by The Atlantic Monthlyโ€™s Student Writing Contest, not to mention various other awards and honors. Perhaps thatโ€™s why these stories will stick with you well after the reading has commenced. Always gnawing at you, unrelenting, asking, โ€œWhat would you have done in that situation? Would you have behaved any differently?โ€”

WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS: little story time related to any of your reading experiencesย

Motherhood by Lindsey Williams

Motherhood

I met Lindsey in a Facebook group for Fiction writers. She let me beta read her new book at the time, Motherhood. Lindsey and I have become Facebook friends and chatted now and then over the past two years. I love how she expresses her opinion about important topics, and in particular is incredibly vocal about women’s rights.
Anyhow, her book Motherhood reminds me of this one time when I was pregnant with my daughter I had a nightmare that when I gave birth to her she wasn’t a human baby. She came out as a purple alien, and tried to kill me. ๐Ÿ‘ฝ Ya. I have seriously crazy nightmares. One of the stories I’ve been working on which I am hoping will become a novel is about aliens as well. I THINK NOT: a book you donโ€™t think you will ever read

Hate Love You.jpg

Hate to Love You

I mean…the photo on the cover is eye-catching, I’ll admit that. But I’ll never read this. Sports & Games romance novel. UMMM. That’s a pass. If that’s your thing – this is a new release and has a pretty good rating on Goodreads.

THE TRUTH OF THE NATURE: an overhyped book

The edge of everything 2

A pic I took for Instagram challenge! Check out all the other pictures on Instagram #BTAT17

The Edge of Everything (Untitled #1)

Everyone was talking about this book, and I was SO EXCITED to read it. The cover is beautiful. The words on the edges of the paper – mirroring the word “edge” in the title, I mean…come on…It had all the right stuff – or so it appeared. I was terribly disappointed in this one. ๐Ÿ˜ž

IN MYYY OPIIIIIINIONNN: one of your most unpopular bookish opinion

Northern Light

Northern Light: The Enduring Mystery of Tom Thomson and the Woman Who Loved Him

Goodreads Average Rating: 3.76
I gave it one star.

HEY BOO: a very endearing bookย

Charlotte's Web.jpg

Charlotte’s Web

The first chapter book that I read. I could cry tears of joy and sadness just thinking about the story right now. This book holds a very special place in my heart.

GOOD MORNING TO YOU, YOU LIVE IN A SHOE: a fictional world/town/place/household/etc youโ€™d feel at home in

Hogwarts.jpg

Hogwarts. After reading four of the books, watching all of the movies at least five times each, and playing the Lego game, I feel like I know this fictional place better than any other. You’ll find me in Gryffindor house, probably organizing a study group with Hermione.

THE PUPPIES: your fav fictional pet/animal companion

DRAGON. I was going to pick unicorn, because I’m slightly obsessed with them, but unicorns are way too cool to be anyone’s pet. So I choose the second best option, dragon.

ALEX: a sassy, funny, music loving character

Queenie from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

TONYA: your favorite fictional best friends

The Hexagon, from Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney C. Stevens

PETER: a quirky, wise AF, big-hearted character

Peter, I’m not comparing you to Dumbledore due to the similar hair color ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dumbledore is wise, quirky, and definitely big-hearted as he made the ultimate sacrifice.
