if you liked that, then you might like this.

Title: The Weather
Author: Caighlan Smith
Goodreads Rating: 2.77
Smith is a Canadian author. I loved how mysterious and vague this short story is. Also has a great atmosphere. I think if you liked Home Delivery, a short story by Stephen King, then you’d like The Weather.

Title: Your Life Is Mine
Author: Nathan Ripley
Goodreads Rating: 3.08
Ripley is also a Canadian author. This story shows the impact that a shooting spree has, not just on the victims and their families, but also on the lasting negative impact on the family of the shooter. Your Life Is Mineย is an engaging, intense, creepy novel that is one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. If you liked Ninth House, then you might like Your Life Is Mine.

Title: The Joy of Doing Nothing
Author: Rachel Jonat
Goodreads Rating: 2.86
A lot of Goodreads readers found this book repetitive, but I didn’t mind that. I thought Jonat shared thoughtful advice. I think if you liked How To Do The Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal From Your Past, and Create your Self then you would like The Joy of Doing Nothing.

Title: Gingerbread
Author: Helen Oyeyemi
Goodreads Rating: 3.06
Unlikeable characters with a slightly confusing story about a complicated mother/daughter relationship. Gingerbread is an imaginative, weird and whimsical tale about jealousy, family secrets, class, and feminism. If you liked Washington Black then you might like Gingerbread.

Title: The Only Child
Author: Andrew Pyper
Goodreads Rating: 3.11
The Only Child is a thrilling horror-mystery story weaved by bestselling Canadian author Andrew Pyper. Have you ever stopped to wonder if Hyde, Dracula, and Frankenstein were the same monster? What if that monster had a child?ย If you liked The Last Resort by Susi Holliday then you might like The Only Child.

Title: The Rain Watcher
Author: Tatiana De Rosnay
Goodreads Rating: 3.20
A slow-building, character-driven emotional journey, I recommendย The Rain Watcherย to readers who enjoy historical fiction with very little dialogue. If you liked The Poisonwood Bible then you might like The Rain Watcher.

Title: The Lifeboat
Author: Charlotte Rogan
Goodreads Rating: 3.20
A quick Historical Fiction read, great for travel. If you liked The Mountain Between Us then you might like The Lifeboat.

Title: Look At Me
Author: Mareike Krรผgel
Goodreads Rating: 3.24
Translated from German and told from the perspective of a mom named Katha, the story is about truths, mortality, marriage, motherhood, sexism, and gender roles. Look At Me is a quirky, funny story with a crazy ending that reminds us to be grateful for what we have and the people who love us. If you liked Everything I Never Told You then you might like Look At Me.
